Glen Iris Medical Group is pleased to now offer an Infusion Service to current and new patients. Infusions are performed in our treatment room by our trained Practice Nurses, overseen by a GP.
Iron Infusion

Aclasta (Zolendronic Acid) Infusion
An Aclasta infusion is a procedure involving a medication prescribed by your GP or specialist given by intravenous infusion for the treatment of Osteoporosis.
Current GIMG Patients:
Prior to booking an infusion, you are required to have a consultation with your doctor to discuss the procedure, whether or not it is suitable for your individual circumstances and to get a prescription for the medicine used in the infusion. Please get this prescription filled at your pharmacy and bring the medication to your infusion appointment.
Appointments can be made online, via the AMS Connect app or via reception on 03 9509 7633.
New Patients:
Discuss your suitability for an infusion with your usual doctor or specialist. They will need to complete our Infusion Service Referral Form above and send it to us before we can schedule an infusion appointment for you. Your usual doctor or specialist will also provide you with the prescription. Please get this prescription filled at your pharmacy and bring the medication to your infusion appointment.
Appointments can be made via reception on 03 9509 7633.
On the day of your infusion:
Please allow at least 1 hour for the infusion. This includes time for IV cannulation, the infusion as well as observation post-infusion.
Drink 2 extra glasses of water before you come for your appointment. Take your normal medications and eat breakfast/lunch beforehand. Wear clothes that are easily able to have the sleeve rolled up.
