An Iron Infusion is a procedure used in the treatment of iron deficiency where iron is delivered into the body intravenously.
Prior to booking in for an Iron Infusion, you are required to have a consultation with your doctor to discuss the procedure, whether or not it is suitable for your individual circumstances & to get a prescription for the Ferinject medicine used in the infusion. Ensure you take this prescription to the pharmacy prior to your Iron Infusion appointment & bring the medicine with you on the day.
Please allow a minimum of 60 minutes for the Iron Infusion appointment. This includes time for the doctor & nurse to discuss the procedure with you beforehand as well as time for the nurse to monitor you after the infusion is complete.
