October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month observed annually in October.

This month focuses on raising awareness about breast cancer, promoting early detection and supporting those affected by the disease.

It is an opportunity to educate our patients and the public about the importance of regular screenings, especially mammograms, which can help detect breast cancer at an early stage, improving survival rates.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers among Australian women, making this month crucial for spreading awareness and promoting action for early diagnosis and treatment.
Most breast changes are not likely to be breast cancer.

However, if you find a change in your breast that’s unusual for you, see your doctor without delay for assessment.
